CJCA | The Light | Edmonton | Touch Canada Broadcasting | Christian
AM930 The Light is a Christian radio station in Edmonton. They've got a nice looking website, and unlike a lot of local stations, they have a blog (though, strangely, the blog doesn't have an RSS feed).

However, that's about as far as their use of social media extends. The station isn't on Facebook or MySpace, nor do there appear to be any fan-created pages on either of the major social networking sites.
All of the standard things you'd expect from a radio station website are here: events, contests, and information about the on-air personalities. But, as far as social media and/or user-generated content, the Light is as lacking as most of Edmonton's radio stations.
The fact that they're not on Facebook may be more a testament to the station's small size than anything else. In order for a Facebook page to be worthwhile, you've got to have a large enough audience to warrant it. With the Light having such low ratings that it was counted in the "all other stations" category last fall, they'd need to get almost their entire audience visiting their Facebook page for it to be worth the effort.
Given how small the station is, and just how few listeners they have, it's probably no surprise that they don't have much in the way of social media. They simply don't have the resources or the audience to support such endeavors.
